If a water blaster is fired in the middle of the woods, does anyone get soaked?

More pertinently, will WWc be fixed for this season or has this place been forsaken?

I honestly don't know. I'd like to find some way of keeping this place going. What can we do?

First, the forum needs to be updated so there's no SQL injection issues. After that, just need some baseline activity. I'd happily push the threads on iSoaker.com regarding tournament rule development here as this is where the Water Warfare League stuff started, but due to lack of activity and the forum going private for the moment, discussions would have been horribly limited had they only been here.

At any rate, this place needs to be re-opened to public viewing and registration first and foremost. After that, to build this place, it needs consistent development in the form of new posts and ideas.

That said, if at least the core group here is unable to keep a base level of posting going even when no others are replying, I'm not sure whether or not it is possible or even worthwhile to try to keep this place running.

"Core group" implies people who only post here and thus necessitate activity. And posting in multiple places just doesn't work, as people only respond in the forum of their choosing. At best, discussions like that mirror discussions elsewhere.

I don't think "Core Group" needs to be people who only post here. More along the lines of those wanting to see this place develop should try to post more often.

That said, first and foremost is ahe need for these forums to be updated such that they can be re-opened.

Honestly, I feel we did try the "let's post for the sake for WWc" method at the beginning, but it petered out after we didn't get far. We never got the wave of new members that could have helped simply because we tried too early.

I hope I'm not coming across as pessimistic.

@Silence: Nah, you're not coming across as pessimistic. I think I was even more pessimistic a little while ago until DX reappeared from his hiatus.

That said, I do not expect a huge new wave of membership to appear. In fact, a sudden influx of members could very well disrupt things and cause more problems. What this place could use is just some better focusing and a baseline of activity. Growth will happen in time or when the inviso-barrier between water warfare and the general public is broken.
